Worst experience ever do not come to this venue for any form of celebration upon arrival they added an extra $5 corkage per head. It took more than half an hour with them fighting with us to pay each our $55 upfront they added an extra $10 to cut the cake that we brought for the birthday girl we booked for 18 people and 17 did come and they still made us pay for 18 people. Exceptionally rude staff. Really made the entire experience a terrible experience I do not care how good the food tastes (because It’s been a booking for 18h30pm. And it’s 19h00pm and we’ve had nothing to eat) terrible service rude staff and chef avoid this place at all costs and they do not use any electronic till and hand write their bill leaving you guessing what the heck you paid for. This place is a HARD pass. Please send food I am so hungry!!!!! It’s now 45 min since sitting down and this is what we have to eat……..

We have been going to Zipang for 10+ years and have always enjoyed it. We were last there about 3 months ago and everything was as good as always. We went for dinner tonight and there were some big changes, prices increased by about 25% which is understandable with the cost of living increases but there was no table service, order at the counter and pay as you go, walk up and pay for each drink, get your chopsticks, cutlery and water.
I get the price increases but good service doesn’t cost the owners anything, from what I could tell the staff numbers were the same and the restaurant hasn’t changed hands so confused why they would mess with a successful formula.
Top Noodle for us in future.

Nice little restaurant surrounded by local residents and businesses.
We had teriyaki chicken, stir fry udon, and katsu chicken curry. For the price we paid, portions were pretty small, food and service were pretty average.

This is a great little local Japanese restaurant. The menu is interesting and they had a special board with an extensive range of alternatives. The sashimi plate was delicious as were the other dishes we ordered. It is byo which is useful. Service was prompt, professional, and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended place to go.

We have dined quite a few times being locals and tonight was the worst experience which is such a shame.
Very confused to be asked to order at the counter as “things have changed” but have someone take your order at the table?
Then be given a 7 mins left of having your table then a 5 min warning then the owner rudely asking the waitress to kick us off our table when we had 5 mins left of the table.
When you book a table and get kicked off 5-10 mins before your time is up is so unenjoyable and won’t be dining again.
The rudeness of getting the waitress to get us off the table is what is disappointing, it’s not like we’re a party table. We have a senior and two small kids. It’s not like we dine often with 2 small kids!
Your ramen might be nice but would rather go to maccas with rude staff like yourselves.
