We stayed at Yumeji for one night for an anniversary celebration and were not disappointed. Attention to detail it was like being transported to Japan. Authentic and welcoming, the hosts were so incredibly hospitable. Breakfast as all reviews attest to was so delicious, authentic, and plentiful! Would love to come back and relax in the bath again, truly a rejuvenating experience.

Breakfasts provided daily were an assorted range of amazing Japanese staples which was a wonderful new experience.
Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to escape to the hinterlands for a truly original Japanese experience.

❤️The Perfect Japanese Romantic Couple getaway
Yumeji Japanese Retreat is a boutique luxury retreat hidden in the rainforests of Mount Tamborine. With only three rooms available, it offers an intimate and exclusive experience (no kids allowed). I stayed in the Tsuru room for $350 per night, which included a delicious Japanese-style breakfast. The futon beds provided surprising comfort, and the Ofuro Japanese bath with hinoki oil was incredibly relaxing. The highlight was the unique and flavorful breakfast prepared by owner Hideyo. The retreat’s attention to detail and authentic Japanese ambiance create a truly memorable stay. I can’t wait to return and book the same room.

Ever wished you travelled to Japan? Here it is the authentic Japanese experience with purpose built Japanese style rooms, your hosts are welcoming and very experienced ensuring you have a private restful stay and the breakfast is the best freshly cooked banquet you will find in authentic Japanese cuisine in Queensland. The breakfast is so delicious and large you won't eat again until the evening 😋

Located at Tamborine mountain, this small family run retreat is a must visit if you want a quick weekend getaway.
The room is very traditional Japanese with imported tatami and local custom furnitures to enhance the Japanese atmosphere.
We stayed at the room with bed and outdoor jacuzzi. It was nice star gazing while soak in jacuzzi but I wouldn’t mind trying the traditional tatami bed and wooden bath next time.
The overall design of the room is well laid out. Each room has own private toilet and showering facility.
The couple that runs this place is very friendly and answers all the questions you have in mind. They are also know a lot about Japan (husband is Japanese) so if planing to travel to Japan soon they can offer a lot of advice.
The quantity breakfast next morning is big with lots of nice choices.
Overall a very pleasant stay and a nice getaway. Would recommend for returns as well.
