Really good, in particular for kids. It is simply laid out and thus impossible to lose anybody. It also makes it simple to backtrack if something gets lost and you need to search for it.
Generally, everyone in the restaurants, offices and entertainment levels keeps an eye out for parents with children and so for that reason it is a safe and helpful environment for families.
(The only teeny little gripe I have regarding tiny kids milling about is the massive sliding door that opens directly onto the car area. BUT THAT SHOULDN'T BE THE HOTEL'S RESPONSIBILITY. It's a very minor issue.)
To end on a good note: the service is tremendous- everywhere. The restaurants, front office and welcome desks. But best of all is the room service and the pool area-restaurant staff. The pool area staff really made the experience fantastic. They really deserve the 5 star rating.

Omg this hotel is simply amazing. We have come here for several of my birthdays and always have an amazing time.
The pool will keep you and kids entertained all day. You won’t get sick of it. Also kids get a free ice cream!!!!! Grounds are maintained pretty well but it could be better.
The rooms are some of the cleanest I’ve ever been to. Just divine.
Breakfast never disappoints and has an abundance of choices.
The downside is the prices, but you only live once and I think it is worth it!!!

I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Gold Coast, and while there were some positives, my overall experience was disappointing.
The room was nice, spacious, and well-kept, and the pool facilities seemed fantastic, though I didn’t get the chance to use them. However, several other aspects of the stay fell short.
First, the dining experience was incredibly frustrating. If you don’t make a reservation well in advance, you can’t eat at any of the restaurants. As someone with a busy schedule, I couldn’t commit to exact dining times, and walk-ins weren’t an option because the restaurants were always fully booked. Even the bar was consistently overcrowded, leaving no alternative.
One restaurant I did manage to dine at was the Japanese teppanyaki, and it was more suited to entertaining children than offering a proper dining experience. The chef at our table blasted Baby Shark and focused entirely on engaging with the children, ignoring the adults altogether. It felt chaotic and unrefined—not the level of service or atmosphere expected from a luxury hotel restaurant.
Second, I had an unpleasant interaction with a front desk staff member. When I asked if the sauna could be used without booking a treatment, her dismissive response was, “Are you for real?” Such unprofessional and rude behavior was deeply disappointing.
While there were good aspects to the stay, the lack of flexibility with dining, the childish nature of the Japanese restaurant, and the poor attitude of some staff left me with a negative impression. The property has potential, but I wouldn’t recommend it without significant improvements.

This is our third time visiting the Marriott & the second time we stayed, sadly it will most likely be our last.
Our first night we were kept up all night by a screaming child, who was put into the conjoined room next door, I would have thought putting a family next to a middle aged no kids couple wouldn’t be wise, and it wasn’t, from 2-5am we laid awake! Was it the paper thin walls, or just the fact it was a conjoined room, I’m not sure, but for over $1000 for a two night stay I felt pretty ripped off!!
Let’s talk about being ripped off!!! The awful massage that awaited us the next day for the whopping price of Over $500 for the worst massage my husband and I have ever had, it was so bad, so overpriced and did not deliver, just rub some oil on yourself and save your money!! My god it was terrible! The pool was slimy, dark and had no fish, well I couldn’t see any!! A far cry from what I remember.
They were kind enough to move us, but only after we packed our bags to leave and fronted up in the lobby, and whilst sitting in the lobby, I felt something drip on me!! I look up to a massive leak in the ceiling!
A disappointing birthday and stay, & certainly not worth the price tag.

A Disappointing, Overpriced Experience
I recently stayed at what I had hoped would be a relaxing, family-friendly hotel, but instead, I was left utterly disappointed. From the moment we arrived, it became clear that this hotel is nothing but a cash grab, and their standards for cleanliness are far below what you'd expect for the price.
First, I paid $50 per adult in advance for a buffet breakfast, only to be charged an additional $7 for a coffee! When we sat down, the bacon was inedible. It’s as though every little thing costs extra. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, parking costs a ridiculous $25 per day, which is outrageous considering the overall lack of quality—and I had to find my own parking.
The pool situation was even worse. The kids' pool reeked of chlorine to the point where my skin smelled for days after, and I was worried about the safety of having my children swim in such harsh conditions. But what was even more shocking was the "lagoon fresh saltwater pool." It was covered in algae and seaweed, making it unusable. My 3-year-old and 5-year-old were horrified and screamed when the seaweed touched them. We had been so excited about this pool, and it ended up being the biggest disappointment of the trip.
To top it off, the rooms were absolutely tiny and dirty—the floors were scuffed, and there were tiny ants roaming everywhere. If you have more than one suitcase, good luck trying to move around. There was barely enough space for my family, and it made the stay feel even more cramped and uncomfortable.
The only redeeming qualities were the staff and their attentiveness. Every request we made was handled promptly, and the room service was super quick, friendly, and always there to help.
When we complained and requested a refund for the remaining three days, they processed it with no questions asked, which was the only saving grace. We happily moved to the brand-new Dorsett hotel and were extremely pleased with our stay there.
In short, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s overpriced, poorly maintained, and feels like they are trying to squeeze every penny out of you at every opportunity. Completely dissatisfied and disappointed. Save your money and look elsewhere.
