My jeans were stolen from the washing machine. Despite there being cameras, staff claimed they could not see who took them and suggested that someone may have recycled them. Additionally, there was no hand soap in the bathrooms, which is essential for hygiene. The showers only had curtains, which made me feel uncomfortable using them. The toilet handles were slimy and may have had human fluids on them. The spa area of the pool was not clean, and staff repeatedly lied about providing us with clean towels. One of the women staying there was nice; however, aside from that, my overall experience was negative. I also found the curfew restricting kitchen use to be unreasonable.

If you’re looking for a place that nudges you towards fast food loyalty programs….
….then ‘Homely’ Inn is the perfect place! The rooms are impressively budget friendly, which was great, because every penny saved was redirected to ordering Maccies after discovering the kitchen’s very own unique approach to protein - complimentary fly larvae included.
Adding to the charm were the… interesting folk around the place. Nothing outright wrong…just enough unsettling vibes to keep you hypervigilant of your surroundings and slightly on edge.
Laundry roulette? It costs $0 per play! This facility deserves a special mention, as they can truly offer a creative service - my tops went in white and came out thoughtfully redesigned with permanent stains - as a hopelessly disorganised backpacker, it really helped me declutter without asking.

This is a dirty, ill-kept, badly-maintained and depressing flop house with nothing to commend it. The location is OK and there is parking, but that’s about it. The bathrooms are often dirty and while we were there, towel rails fell off the wall. The kitchen is awful and didn’t sit on the chairs and sofas as they looked old and filthy.
I killed a few cockroaches.
Internet access is almost non-existent - don’t bother with the wi-fi.
I used the free washing machine but it left grey stains on my light-coloured clothing.
The bunks aren’t secured so it’s a wonder they don’t fall over. They have to be dangerous. All the curtains I saw had holes in them. I saw staff sweep the rooms (a bit) but I wondered if they were ever mopped.
The manager is very nice…
but her assistant (Alison?) hardly speaks English, so if you have a problem while she’s on duty, you have no hope of reaching a solution. Alison is quite rude and doesn’t like talking to guests, it seems.
In any case, neither of them knock before entering into the rooms, so there’s no real privacy (and it’s a complete lack of manners).

New manager was nice and helpful,room was big and balcony was nice ,and near tram stop
Very noisy road outside , kitchen was not clean at all either the bathrooms ,no room for our food in fridge,the people who live there have no respect for the place and leave the place so dirty
can tell new manger was trying but had only been there a couple days but place need a good sorting out and deep clean

Spent an amazing 7 weeks here, absolutely lovely people, rooms, lounge areas, outside area and kitchen and so close to the tram station. Felt like home away from home, definitely recommend homely inn :)
