As soon as we entered, we asked for a table of 4. There were 4 different tables empty, but she seated us right next to the door where the table was no steady at all.
- To top this up, they had a so called ‘surcharge’ of 5%! 😂 Talk about ripping money off customers. And when I asked why, she said ‘because of the high cost of groceries’. Well you are the only restaurant who has been affected by this? I went to another dosa hut in Brisbane, they didn’t have it. I checked the restaurants sounding this Gold Coast Dosa Hut, no one had this so called ‘surcharge’ for inventory cost.
- We ordered Ginger Gobi, Gobi 65 biryani and Chicken Dum Biryani. Let me tell you, I have ordered all the 3 items and enjoyed it at all the different Dosa Huts in Australia! But this particular chain had the worst food quality, and quantity. Ginger Gobi is supposed to be in small pieces and crunchy. They gave us old reheated ginger gobi and big pieces. They were not crunchy but soft 😂 Gobi 65 Biryani was asked to be spicy, but I don’t think they understand the definition of spicy. Chicken dum biryani (mild) was just 2 chicken pieces, and rice. No gravy, no masala’s, no marination! When we asked for masala they gave us the masala rice 🤦🏾♀️
Let me clarify, I have had all these items at Dosa hut in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane. And all of them were top notch. But this store, will never go here food or wouldn’t encourage anyone to. Because this is definitely not authentic Indian food. Waste of money, time, and my food palette 🥲

Lamb Rogan Josh ($25.95) + Saffron Rice ($7.95):
The broth tastes savoury, very well seasoned just mild spiciness as I wanted.
Lamb cutlets are also very tender to bite but saffron rice with the spicy curry is altogether best part, one of the best curry I’ve ever had.
Strawberry Daiquiri ($9.95):
There are actual strawberry fleshes with some sugar on the edge of the glass adding the texture. Tastes sweeter and better than a regular strawberry juice.
Falooda ($9.95):
Highly recommend, it’s rare to find one in these Indian restaurants. It’s concentrated saffron milk topped with a scoop of mint ice cream, jelly pieces, and a bit of vermicelli. Love the creamy and gooey texture similar to lassi. They provided a straw but I suggest you eat it with a spoon too.
Located at the north end of the Crestwood Plaza behind the supermarket. Cheaper drinks compared to other Indian restaurants in the urban area but food prices are similar.
Overall, this is how Indian food supposed to taste like, very underrated Indian restaurant, nice staff too, 10 out of 10!

I recently visited Dosa Hut – Indian Multi Cuisine Restaurant on the Gold Coast. The service was good, and the restaurant had a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
I ordered the veg noodles, and they were extremely tasty—just like the authentic Indo-Chinese noodles you get in India. They were definitely the highlight of the meal.
I also tried the Pudina Kali Mirch Chicken, but it was a bit disappointing. I couldn’t taste even a hint of mint, which is an essential flavor in the dish and something I was looking forward to.
We also ordered the cheese garlic naan and the garlic naan. They were decent, but nothing particularly memorable.
Overall, it was a good experience thanks to the service and ambience, and I’d happily return for the veg noodles. I just hope the Pudina Kali Mirch Chicken is closer to its authentic flavor next time.

This was a disappointing experience. On a lazy Sunday afternoon. Our order was misplaced and after 1 hr we got food served.
Dosa were underwhelming with plain dosa and some condiment on the side. For 22$ I thgt this was a waste of money.
The biryani was even worse with curry at the bottom and rice at top!! Probably southern style.
Total bill for 4 people 100$ approx
Suggest try other places and skip this one.

We recently visited Dosahut Gold Coast for dinner, and unfortunately, our experience with the service was very disappointing.
When we arrived, the front staff did not acknowledge us for quite some time while we were waiting for a table. After finally being seated, the table was unclean, and when we requested it to be wiped, it was done without proper cleaning spray.
While ordering, we asked for extra masala in the biryani and were told it would cost an additional $3, which we declined. Later, we ordered a 70mm masala dosa and requested it to be made Mysore-style by adding spice powder. The staff confirmed it was possible but did not inform us of an extra $2 charge for this modification and dosa was not bigger than plate like 70mm. We also ordered plain idli, but we were charged the price of sambar idli. When we questioned this, we were told that idli at this restaurant comes only with chutney, and since our plate included sambar, they charged us for sambar idli. This was surprising, as in most restaurants idli is typically served with both chutney and sambar as standard.
Service throughout the meal was poorly coordinated. One staff member was running around trying to manage tables and delivery orders, while another staff member appeared disengaged and was not actively assisting customers. This imbalance made the overall service feel slow and unorganized.
We were not provided with basic items like plates or water and had to request them multiple times. Even when our starter was served, there were no plates provided, making it difficult to eat. We were given only one glass of water to share between two people.
Despite clearly requesting that starters be served before the biryani, the biryani arrived first. Overall, the order sequence and service flow were not managed properly.
After paying, we asked for the bill and noticed an unexplained $2 charge listed under the child menu. When questioned, the staff clarified it was for the dosa powder, which had not been communicated earlier.
As tourists visiting from another state, we had high expectations, and unfortunately, the service experience did not meet them. The customer service was disorganised, inattentive, and lacked transparency in pricing.
The food itself was excellent and full of flavor—truly the only highlight of our visit.
