I was originally diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis by a Gold Coast specialist, and after trying multiple medications with no relief, I began to seriously doubt the diagnosis. A friend recommended I see Ian at Coastal Physiotherapy — and I’m so glad I did.
Ian’s hands-on, holistic approach is completely different from anything I’ve experienced before. He takes the time to educate you on how your body functions, using trial-and-proof movements that actually make sense and deliver results. After just the first session, I could physically see results — something I hadn’t experienced in years.
Within 5–6 weeks of seeing Ian, my chronic back pain significantly subsided — and I’m now back to carrying out my daily work as a plumber, something I was starting to think might not be possible anymore.

Ian you are the best. Was not looking forward to long car trips, but Ian soon sorted my lower back problems.
On remedial relief with back, his holistic approach sorted out several areas not complained about.
Would have returned for follow-up but travelling prevented this.
DIY therapy advice given and heeded upon.
Follow-up messages were also a pleasant surprise.
I can recommend him for professional help.

I have been to my fair share of physio and physical therapists and can honestly say that Ian has been the best by fair. I experienced a severe hip injury and did not see much improvement after spending a significant amount of time and money at another physical therapist. A friend recommended Ian, and I was immediately impressed by his ability to not only diagnose my injury, but explain it to me in a way I could understand. He made sure I understood his instructions and answered all of my questions. I also appreciated his professionalism and friendliness. I have since visited Ian for multiple injuries and feel that he truly cares for his patients and wants to see them improve physically and mentally. I am more than willing to make the long drive to Parkwood for a physio he really knows his stuff and is personable, as well. I highly recommend Ian and Coastal Physiotherapy team if you are in the Gold Coast area.
