5 Stars – Wonderful Stay at Royal Pacific Resort
My mother & sister’s & myself had a fantastic stay at Royal Pacific Resort in Biggera Waters. The location is beautiful, and the atmosphere was relaxing—perfect for a getaway.
The staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with anything I needed. Management was great—professional and attentive, ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout my stay.
The resort itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back again.

Our room was large but very old and dirty — we had to clean everything ourselves. Surfaces were so filthy the sponge turned black, and the bed linen was overly worn. Toaster unusable, kitchen hood broken, and the terrace too dirty to enjoy, despite a small sea view. Bathroom and kitchen were spacious but not clean. Only tiny samples of soap and detergent are provided. Gym and sauna are in a separate shed and in terrible condition. The barbecue area isn’t very nice either. The pool and hot jacuzzi were the highlights. Overall, very outdated facilities and poor cleanliness, but not a completely terrible stay because the position is very good.

We rebooked directly during our stay for a trip 11 months later and paid a deposit — but were never shown or sent any cancellation policy or booking confirmation. When we had to cancel just 20 days later (with 10 months’ notice), they refused a refund and sent a rude, aggressive response before going silent. Their justification was simply that they’re a small business and “can’t absorb losses due to cancellations.”
With this much notice — and no terms ever provided — it feels deeply unfair. Under NZ consumer law, cancellation fees must be reasonable and based on actual losses. We were never told what those terms were or what costs they supposedly incurred.
As for the stay itself: the room was tired and not like the photos. The shower door didn’t close until our last day (despite several complaints), and the place was crawling with ants. The only reason we rebooked was the pool for the kids and beach proximity.
Overall a disappointing experience — no professionalism, no accountability, and very poor handling of customer concerns. We’ll be taking this further and sharing our experience more widely. Would not recommend.
