Was a bit hesitant due the some negative reviews, but only experienced 5 stars across the board. We did the degustation menu with wine pairing - and we were thoroughly impressed from the quality of the food, to the impeccable service from the staff! Can highly recommend this place. It was an amazing birthday dinner. Thank you so much!

For a 5 star hotel’s signature restaurant, it fell way short unfortunately. Although my food was good, not generous proportions, I won’t be rushing back. I was part of a larger group but at no stage on the menu or at booking did it state one bill per table. When I paid my portion by cash, I was told they didn’t have change ~ what the???? The maître d tried his best but policies need updating. It wasn’t super busy but they still took forever to take our order & we had to call them over to do so. I had the prawn & crab pasta which I much preferred when it was the prawn & bugs. My chocolate cake dessert was more a mousse and the accompanying raspberry sorbet was the winner in my eyes. Even when I asked for a parfait or teaspoon for my dessert, they didn’t take the dessert spoon or half the main & other menus left on the table. Attention to detail is very lacking.

Dining again at The Fireplace was incredibly special; sitting in the same place where we celebrated our wedding all those years ago brought back so many wonderful memories.
The food and service are excellent. Love this place. Well done

Fantastic staff! I have dinned at many Michelin restaurants and the attitude and people and including the manager was incredible! Maybe we got lucky, but our server Megan and manager was destined for this!

Everything about this place was decidedly average. We stayed at the hotel and decided to try The Fireplace for dinner. We didn't book, but it was quiet so didn't think it would be a problem. The Maitre d seemed to have a problem with it though, took her a while to find us a seat. For reference, the restaurant never filled up, we saw at least 5 empty 2 seaters the whole time. After we were made to feel like we had caused her trouble we were seated and the service did get better. Our waitress was great.
The food was very average. My steak was ok, with some shrivelled green beans and flavourless mash on the side. My partners pasta was nice, but just nice, nothing to get excited about.
We left feeling mostly underwhelmed and won't go back.
