Incredibly impressed with the level of customer service I received when I came into Salon Direct. The staff were very knowledgeable about the products & very friendly. I will definitely be coming back here to shop!

The staff don't know there products at all. Anytime I go there or call to get someone to put some items aside so I can have a staff member collect them I'm told they don't sell those items or I have to explain in detail about where abouts in the store that item is kept and I'm often given the wrong items. Today I was quite rudely told that a particular item I wanted had been discontinued. I was quite surprised as I have worked with this brand for years and usually get it from many other salon supplies stores and had not once heard of this, when I mentioned that I was made to feel like I was clearly wrong and any stock I had been buying from other companies was clearly old stock and that I need to find another alternative as it's definitely discontinued (even though it was the brands original formula which is what had me confued) . As soon as I left the store I called that brand directly and they said that is absolutely not true and that item will never be discontinued and were very apologetic as if I hadn't have been someone who questioned something like that, that brand would've just lost a client as I would've begin to find an alternative. They were quite embarrassed. When I called salon direct back to tell them this they were like well we only advise on what we are told by that company. The company told me there is no way they would've ever told them that because it's simply not true. Anytime I go here I find the staff un knowledgable on products, not up to date brands and trends, and just simply clueless. There's even been a time when I was in store and a customer there was asking a staff member for help and the staff member had no clue what the customer was even asking and a very 'oh I don't know' attitude and the customer was getting confused so I jumped in and spent about 5 minutes educating the client myself and while this was happening the staff member walked away rather than actually educating herself on what I was helping the client with!!! Today I was made to feel stupid with no real apology either. Would not recommend this store. The girls at Premier Salon Supplies in Southport are so helpful and really know there stuff.
